Collective Intelligence Design, by Nesta

Nesta recently started a Centre for Collective Intelligence Design. They research how human and machine can be combined to develop innovative solutions to social challenges.

They are working on spreading skills and knowledge about collective intelligence, they research collective intelligence design and create new resource, toolkits and guides. Nesta also support others through their grant programme.

They recently released a collective intelligence design playbook and a video introducing 4 design principles:

1. Increase diversity of the people you involve and the opinions you listen to
2. Enable people to contribute views and ideas independently and freely
3. Bring together different types of data to unlock fresh insights
4. Be citizen-centered: think data empowerment, no data extraction

Watch this 2 minutes video to find out more about these principles.
